Our Areas of Impact

In support of our Students and Educators the Julie Routhier Foundation is involved in the following ways to achieve that objective.

Graduating

Julie Routhier Scholarship

To help our Lynnfield students the Julie Routhier Foundation has partnered with the Lynnfield Rotary Club to run or walk in memory of Julie at the annual Lynnfield 5k Turkey Trot.  Thanksgiving was Julie's favorite holiday as it was a family connection day. Running or walking to honor Julie has become a special way to connect as a community and show their love and support for the Routhier family.  Click here to see photos from prior year Turkey Trots.

This 5k is also a way to fundraise for the Lynnfield Rotary Club’s scholarship program that awards a monetary value to a graduating Lynnfield high school resident who is pursuing higher education.  The Julie Routhier Scholarship has been setup through the Rotary Club in memory of Julie to award $2,000 to a graduating senior who meets the club’s Service Above Self Motto and is pursuing a career in teaching.

Julie Routhier Educator Appreciation Award

To help our Lynnfield educators the Julie Routhier Educator Appreciation Award has been established to provide monetary support and recognition to educators from the Lynnfield Public Schools (LPS) to help offset personal out of pocket costs they incur when pursuing additional development in skills, supplies or knowledge that support their work in the Lynnfield schools.  This $1,000 award is provided annually to at least one educator from each of the four Lynnfield schools through a formal application and selection process.

Structure Added to Summer Street School

As a Lynnfield Summer Street parent, Julie was always trying to find ways to give back to the school in support of the kids.  It was this kindness that sparked the idea to raise proceeds for a beautiful shaded bench area in her memory for the new Summer Street School playground.  With the help of the Summer Street PTO, proceeds were collected from family, friends and many Lynnfield residents to create a gathering area for students and local families that we know Julie would have loved and people can enjoy for years to come.  In November of 2023 this flower shaded area was installed with an immediate impact and use by the students.

Thank you to the Summer Street PTO, Principal and all those who helped contribute to making this possible!
